As I browse through some fashion blogs, I’ve come across many things that have become my favorite.

The first thing I seen comes from Angela Simmons’s blog. For the Spring 2011 collection of Pastry, the Simmons's sisters will release a collection called “Pastry Sire Neon.” the bright colors are dope and I’m a fan. So I will surely buy me a pair.

My second favorite piece out right now is the “No Boys Allowed” chain. The chain created in conjunction with the release of Keri Hilson’s new album “No Boys Allowed” album, which is in stores now.

Finally, you need some good music to dance around your room too when you are getting dressed for a night out. Here are my top three albums.

I sit back and I’ve come to realize that everything I’ve done has made me happy. The people I’ve met along my journey has made me happy. People may not understand you, but know God will always have you back, even when you don’t know where your next step will take you.

Hindu Goddess Durga Ma. The Mother of the Universe.

On New Years eve, I was in church, soaking in the love I felt in the temple. As I sat down and watched everyone around me, I felt blessed to be able to see another year, especially when I went through so many hardships in a short period of time. As I sat there reflecting, another church member approached me and asked me a question.

“When you come to the temple who do you pray for?”
I looked at her and thought about my answer for a minute, then I replied “I pray for my family and friends. I pray for them and hope that God grants them safety and health.”

Then she asked me “Why don’t you pray for yourself?” I replied “The person who prays for others will receive the most of God’s blessings”

With that the lady gave me a hug and walked away.

In 2011, I pray that everyone in my life is granted with strength, health and happiness. No matter who you are, God has placed you in my life for a reason and I’m forever grateful. Last Train to Paris: Album Review

On December 14, 2010, after three years of hard work and sleepless nights in the studio Diddy- Dirty Money (Consisting of Dawn Richard, Sean Combs, and Kalenna Harper) released there LP “Last Train to Paris.”

With features from Grace Jones, Swizz Beatz, Usher, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Justin Timberlake, Bilal, James Fauntleroy, Notorious BIG, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Seven, Drake and Skylar Grey the album is very diverse in the sounds and production. This album is not what you are used to hearing from Diddy.

The voices of Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper tie this album together with Diddy’s rapping and singing. The way the album is arranged showcase a love story which are told from the female and male’s point of view, which was accomplished with the formation of Diddy – Dirty Money.

After releasing numerous singles, Diddy – Dirty Money released the Swizz Beatz assisted “Ass on the Floor.” The drums and bass makes the song flow and it sounds amazing with the volume all the way up. Some of my other favorite songs on LTTP are “Yeah Yeah You Would” featuring Grace Jones, “1st Place Loser” (Which is a bonus song on the Itunes download),and “Your Love” featuring Trey Songz.

Overall I believe if you like different sounding music that is not what you normally hear on the radio then you will love “Last Train to Paris”

Bittersweet

This holiday season along with the last five have been really bittersweet for me. On Jan 26, 2005 I lost my cousin in a drowning accident in Trinidad, where he was vacationing with his family. They say time heals all wounds, but it doesn’t for me because as the days past and the months and years go by, it gets harder because you always think about what would you be doing together if he was still here. Its going on six years since Andy past away and it still bothers me. Even though they say let go, I can’t let go because he is suppose to be here with us. Sometimes I catch myself thinking about him and I begin to cry. My heart. has a hole that no one can fill. No one will never understand my hurt and pain. But I take comfort in knowing he’s watching down on us and he’s our angel in heaven

The History of the Sari

A sari or saree is a strip of unstitched cloth, ranging from four to nine metres in length that is draped over the body in various styles. It is popular in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Burma, and Malaysia. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder baring the midriff

The sari is usually worn over a petticoat with a blouse known as a choli or ravika forming the upper garment. The choli has short sleeves and a low neck and is usually cropped, and as such is particularly well-suited for wear in the sultry South Asian summers. Cholis may be backless or of a halter neck style. These are usually more dressy with plenty of embellishments such as mirrors or embroidery, and may be worn on special occasions. Women in the armed forces, when wearing a sari uniform, don a short-sleeved shirt tucked in at the waist. The sari developed as a garment of its own in both South and North India at around the same time, and is in popular culture an epitome of Indian culture.

The word sari is derived from Sanskrit शाटी śāṭī which means 'strip of cloth'.and शाडी śāḍīsāḍī in Prakrit, and which was corrupted to sāṛī in Hindi. or साडी

In the history of Indian clothing the sari is traced back to the Indus Valley Civilisation, which flourished during 2800-1800 BC around the western part of the Indian subcontinent. The earliest known depiction of the sari in the Indian subcontinent is the statue of an Indus Valley priest wearing a drape.

Ancient Tamil poetry, such as the Silappadhikaram and the Kadambari by Banabhatta, describes women in exquisite drapery or sari. In ancient Indian tradition and the Natya Shastra (an ancient Indian treatise describing ancient dance and costumes), the navel of the Supreme Being is considered to be the source of life and creativity, hence the midriff is to be left bare by the sari.

Sculptures from the Gandhara, Mathura and Gupta schools (1st-6th century AD) show goddesses and dancers wearing what appears to be a dhoti wrap, in the "fishtail" version which covers the legs loosely and then flows into a long, decorative drape in front of the legs. No bodices are shown.

Other sources say that everyday costume consisted of a dhoti or lungi (sarong), combined with a breast band and a veil or wrap that could be used to cover the upper body or head. The two-piece Kerala mundum neryathum (mundu, a dhoti or sarong, neryath, a shawl, in Malayalam) is a survival of ancient Indian clothing styles. The one-piece sari is a modern innovation, created by combining the two pieces of the mundum neryathum.

It is generally accepted that wrapped sari-like garments, shawls, and veils have been worn by Indian women for a long time, and that they have been worn in their current form for hundreds of years.

One point of particular controversy is the history of the choli, or sari blouse, and the petticoat. Some researchers state that these were unknown before the British arrived in India, and that they were introduced to satisfy Victorian ideas of modesty. Previously, women only wore one draped cloth and casually exposed the upper body and breasts. Other historians point to much textual and artistic evidence for various forms of breastband and upper-body shawl.

In Kerala and Tamil Nadu, it is indeed documented that women from many communities wore only the sari and exposed the upper part of the body till the 20th century. Poetic references from works like Silappadikaram indicate that during the sangam period in ancient Tamil Nadu, a single piece of clothing served as both lower garment and head covering, leaving the bosom and midriff completely uncovered.In Kerala there are many references to women being bare-breasted,including many pictures by Raja Ravi Varma. Even today, women in some rural areas do not wear cholis.

Diwali - The Hindu Festival of Lights

Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity.

The name Diwali is itself a contraction of the word Deepavali, which translates into row of lamps. Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (diyas) filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. During Diwali celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends. Some Indian business communities begin the financial year on the first day of Diwali, hoping for prosperity the following year.

The reason why people do Lakshmi Puja (Prayers) on Diwali:

Lakshmi puja is performed during Diwali, the festival of lights. According to tradition people would put small oil lamps outside their homes on Diwali and hope Lakshmi will come to bless them. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped by those who wish to acquire or to preserve wealth. It is believed that Lakshmi (wealth) goes only to those houses which are clean and where the people are hardworking. She does not visit the places which are unclean/dirty or where the people are lazy.

On November 5, 2010, all Hindus will celebrate Diwali. We ask Mother Lakshmi to come into our homes and bless us. To be the light that our families need to live a good life and be successful.

If you are like me, you have a makeup case filled with makeup. So after doing a little bit of research, I compiled a list of 10 basic items that you need to put on your makeup flawlessly.

1. Foundation - The key to picking the right foundation is to know our skin type. If you need help with picking the right shade, visit your local makeup counter and let someone help you

2. Concealer - The key to applying concealer is to use light pressure. If you rub the product on with a lot of pressure you will run the risk of taking off the product.

3. Eyelash Curler - Plastic curlers are the way to go to avoid the bend that metal curlers leave behind. DO NOT curl you eye lashes after putting on mascara because the lash will get stuck to the curler and be pulled out.

4. Blush – Key to using blush is to use a little bit of the product. Add blush to the apple of your cheeks.

5. Clump Free Mascara – No one likes a clumpy lash.

6. Easy Glide Eyeliner – Pressing firmly on your brow bone and lifting your eye lid slightly will help you achieve that prefect line.

7. All Over Highlighter – Choose a soft nude, peach or pink for the most versatility.

8. Basic Eye shadows – For everyday use, pick shadows that are a few shades darker then your complexion.

Meeting Diddy - Dirty Money

Diddy – Dirty Money did a show in Atlantic City on July 3rd, 2010. Dawn being the amazing person hooked up Kyle, David, and myself with VIP waist bands. My day started at 8 AM. I got up did my morning routine and started to get dressed. By 12 pm, we were on the road. After dropping my cousin off, we made our journey to Atlantic City. The ride was long but the pay off at the end was worth it. At 4 PM, I had arrived at the Showboat, where the concert was being held.

I was the first one there and I was waiting for Kelly, David and Kyle. So after waiting for 15 minutes, everyone started arriving one by one. After everyone came, we took some pictures on the boardwalk and then headed inside. When we got inside, we hung out and then David's mother decided to give him some money. So he left and made his way to the front entrance of the casino.

While David was waiting for his mother, Dawn and Kalenna were arriving at the casino. They were in a rush because they were late and needed to head to sound check. David got his waist band from Dawn and that's when I started to panic a little. We had missed the girls and Dawn was asking for Kyle and I so she can give us the bands. We then went upstairs in front of the concert hall and tried to figure out how to get in touch with Dawn to get our bands. Kyle texted her asking about the bands and she responded asking us where we were

. She told us to wait and she was coming to give us our bands personally.

So we waited and then Dawn called and said to meet her by the back drop they had set up so people can take pictures. So we walked and turned the corner and there she was. When I saw her I started shaking. At that point it had became a surreal moment because we all had seen on TV a few days ago. So after we got our bands, we stood around and talked for a while. She opened Kyle's gift and loved it. (He made them a framed collage that looked amazing.)

So after talking for a while longer, she told us to wait and she was either gonna come and get us herself or she was going to send someone for us. In the meantime, Kyle had also made a collage for Kalenna which Dawn took back with her. About 5 minutes later, Kalenna called Kyle saying Thanks and that she would see us in a little bit. After that, we just sat and chilled and waited because they were already running late, everything got thrown off. We sat around waiting, Kelly and I went into the VIP area and got Ciroc and we chilled. Then at about 10:30 we saw Kalenna's husband Tony. We asked him who was supposed to get us and he pointed us in the direction of Candice.

Candice saw us and asked us are we here for Dawn and we all said yes and that's when we headed back stage. When we got backstage, Candice has us all line up against the wall because they weren't ready for us. So as we waited, we had small conversations between us and then when I turned around, I saw a bunch of people walking coming in out direction. In the middle of the group was Diddy. He smiled, and waved and I was truly surprised, then a few steps behind him was Cassie. She looked beautiful and she smiled and said hi to us.

Then Diddy did a little interview as Cassie headed back to the dressing room to get her hair done. About 5 minutes later, Candice motioned for us to follow her. When we went through the door, we were all standing in front of the dressing room door. Candice knocked on the door and Dawn opened the door.

She told us to come in chill as Cassie was getting her hair done. So we all walked in, when Kalenna saw Kyle and myself she grabbed us and hugged us tight. She told us how much she appreciated all the hard work we do and she was like were her life. Then we sat down ,chilled and talked and then Diddy called the girls out cause he needed to talk to them. The concert starts a few minutes later, so everyone headed out to the side of the stage. But I couldn't see anything because everyone in front of me was taller then me, but it didn't matter, I was still dancing and having a good time. But then the security told us we had to move that's when we headed back to the dressing room and watch the concert on the TV. So after Diddy did some of his old songs and Dawn and Kalenna Performed “Come wit Me” and “Last Night”, then they came backstage and chilled with us for a little while.

Dawn and Kalenna sat down and talked to us and I was truly star struck. For me, waiting 3 years for something like this was worth it. Then they headed back on stage and rocked the stage. Diddy preformed some more of this solo songs and then they preformed “Love Come Down”. The girls killed it and I was truly in awe. From what I can see the girls took control of the stage and rocked it.

After preforming they danced and had a good time and time. Then the closed the show with “Hello Good Morning”, which at the point we went back out and was standing behind the sound board with Dawn's mother. We were all dancing and having a good time and when they show was over we headed back to the dressing room. After we walked in, the girls walked in afterward.

As soon Dawn walked into the room, she went right to the fridge and got her a bottle of soda and sat down on the couch. Dawn started struggle to open the bottle, so I took it from her and opened it and she was like I didn't have to do that and I just smiled. Then the girls sat down to do a short interview and the girls had us laughing.

They were being silly, cracking jokes and we we're all laughing. After they did the interview, Dawn got up and went over to the door. So I sat next to Kalenna and she grabbed me and Kyle's hand and talked to us. She was just very humbled and appreciative for everything we've done for her. I literally sat there and wanted to cry because it was just a surreal moment.

After chilling for a while, everyone was in there. Then Diddy came in to let the girls know that they did a good job and he was very happy. He smiled and when we asked for pictures he gladly took the pictures with us. Then when everyone got ready to leave, we all got hugs and everyone left the room.

I want to thank Dawn and Kalenna for everything. It was a truly amazing night and we had so much fun.

Who is Kalenna?

You've seen her on America Idol, Good Morning America, MTV and countless television appearances. She's there alongside Diddy, Dawn from Danity Kane...she's the new girl with the body that won't quit and the attitude that says she's right where she belongs... She is Kalenna...aka the flashy enigma most recognizable as 1/3 of PDiddy's futuristic group Dirty Money and she's been preparing for such a time as this. However Kalenna's natural stage presence, seductive vocals and flashy persona weren't created at the inception of Dirty Money. In fact Kalenna the artist was born many years before to a sassy teen mother from North Philadelphia. A few years later her mother later married a former emcee turned military man, a union which offered a young Kalenna the opportunity to travel and also helped spark her fascination for writing poetry and setting it to music.

Audiences however were first introduced to Kalenna after she answered Usher's confessions years ago when the Prince of Pop was on top of the charts with his diamond selling Confessions album. Fans loved the cocky ATL-based chick by way of Philly with the slick pen and eclectic personality who had the chutzpah to write a response to Usher's confessions when the album dominated the charts. Kalenna's response took off like wildfire and soon she found herself performing her version of Confessions allover the southeast. Since that time, Kalenna has been biding her time, growing her catalog and planning her strategy. After years of paying dues, an opportunity presented itself and Kalenna took the chance to re-introduce herself to fans on a global scale through the Bad Boy legacy. And although many fans are just now getting the chance to meet the energetic force behind many of Dirty Money's lyrics along with various other forces such as Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Lopez, Fantasia, Jill Scott and Christina Aguilera, along with contemporaries like the PussyCat Dolls, Trina, Maino and Slimm Thug, for Kalenna this is only the beginning.

Getting aboard the Last Train to Paris with one of the most celebrated forces in music could prove overwhelming for some new artists, but for Kalenna it was the opportunity to live out a dream while continuing to do music. While maintaining a grueling promotional schedule with group mates Diddy and Dawn, Kalenna has managed to continue contributing to some of the biggest albums on the charts including penning the title track on Christina Aguilera's newly released album and becoming a force on hip hop hooks. Kalenna's infectious bad-girl swagger has resulted in her becoming the go-to girl for hooks for some of hip hop's biggest artists, making her range amazing writing for Christina Aguilera on Monday and three six mafia on Tuesday, while transitioning to being in Brazil with Dirty Money at the week's end.

Add to her schedule the fact that Kalenna is a wife and dedicated mother of a beautiful little boy and she appears to indeed be a superwoman. Her son is in fact the reason Kalenna chose to take a break from being onstage years ago. She recognized the importance of being with her son after his birth and was at first willing to sacrifice her dream to provide him with a balanced family. As her son grew older she realized the best gift she could give him was a mother who followed her dreams and managed to take him along on the journey. Kalenna is quick to acknowledge her blessings in having a great family that helps her balance motherhood along with a very demanding career. In addition to balancing stardom and motherhood, Kalenna has also found time to be an advocate for a cause she to which she is totally committed. After losing her sister to Lupus several years ago, Kalenna became an advocate for the Lupus foundation.

Kalenna is looking forward to the release of Dirty Money's upcoming album. She also enjoys the creative outlet she's given penning records for her peers and performing collaborations with artists in various genres. When asked if she ever feels overwhelmed, Kalenna laughs. 'This journey has taught me that dreams are real and can come true but you have to keep going, butt up and keep pushing.

So when she had her children, she decided to come to America to give them a better life, and that she did. She worked 7 days a week to take care of her children and household. She instilled hard work in her children and made sure they knew that nothing comes to those who don not work.

Even though my mother and I have our disagreements, I adore my mother. No matter how much we fight and argue, I know that she is always there for me.

The Warford Foundation was created by Parthenia Richardson. TWF is a non-profit organization that was created to help single and widowed military mothers obtain a two year nursing degree.

When it came to helping those less fortunate, Parthenia has a soft spot in her heart. She has a special connection with single mothers, as she was one raising two daughters, while she was in the U.S army for 20 years.

The one thing Ms. Richardson wants to stress to the women a part of her foundation is, things happen that will change your life , but it is how you respond to those things that will affect the way you will live your life. Ms. Richardson believes that her foundation is a step in the right direction for many and a place where second chances are giving without judgment.

1. How does it feel to record as a solo artist?

· You know, it feels great. I'm so excited that I get the chance to share my sound and style right now. I'm excited that the world is going to hear my story. Its exciting that the world is going to hear my message, just like Michael Jackson. You know he had a message in everything he did. He gave the world a piece of him, now I get the chance to them a piece of Que.

2. What is the biggest lesson you've learned, thus far?

· The biggest lesson I've learned in the music industry so far is to make sure your business is in order. Don't come into this business looking at the glitz and glamour. Don't let the fame suck you in. Be grounded and make sure your business is handled. Make sure you look at all your contracts and receipts, everything. You don't want to be an entertainer, who’s very successful at making great music and when everything is turned off you have nothing to show for it.

3. What should the fans expect from the solo album? Producers and artist, if you have any lined up?

· Seven reached out, he interested. Brandy, she wants to do a song. I'm so excited, all these artist are coming out the wood work. They want to work with me because they believe in me. Basically, the mix tape was a set up for the album. The album is going to be about my situation I've been through with television, with Day26, my relationship. It’s going to be some real stuff. I'm excited the fans are going to hear my message and hear my story. I have an opinion; I want the world to appreciate my opinion. I don't want them to think I'm just a reality TV star. No, my dream was not to be a reality star, my dream, was to be an artist, to be a singer, to share with the world my message. I can't wait to share my testimony.(Seven was on Making the Band and helped produced Donnie Klang's album)

4. Who are your favorite female artists?

· I have a couple, I'm a big fan of Brandy, and everyone knows that. I love Beyonce, talking about females She's incredible, I would love to do a track with her. Male artist, I'm a huge fan of Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, Usher, Chris Brown. So anybody who has talent, I don't hate on anybody. Anybody who’s musically inclined, I would love to work with them. If you make good music, let's go. I like to sing, there is no competition. I like to sing and share my talent with the world.

5. What can the fans expect from the reality show with Dawn?

· You can expect love, the ups and downs. We are going to give you the truth. People think we've made it, but it’s a struggle everyday with us trying to maintain our relationship. We have a family and we're also business partners. She has a job and career, and I do too. So the reality TV show is basically going to be about our struggles of us being in love, maintaining a relationship, supporting our family and maintaining a job. I think the world needs to see it because it’s beautiful. A lot of people thinks impossible, but the truth is real love does exists. If you want love, all you have to do is search your heart and find it. You have to find what you really want.

If you really want something in life you have to go after it and know that you can achieve it. If you put your mind to it, you can do it. We're not perfect, but we're in love and we respect each other. Even though we have disagreements sometimes, we respect each other that's the key too. You have to respect each other and know there's a line. There has to be loyalty and you have to be truthful to make it work if you want that. Everybody doesn’t want that, but I'm at a different point in my life and that's what I want.

6. Can the fans expect an official website?

· We're working on that now. First, we have to get the business handle at Atlantic Records because Day26 sent me a letter saying they did not want to work with me anymore. The lawyers are working on getting the business handled, and then we can start getting it organized.

7. If you can pick one world to describe your music, what would it be?

· I would say (Pause), my music, I would say is real, you know it has a message. You know M.J, I keep going back to M.J. M.J wrote songs with subliminal messages. The lyrics were sung one way, but were meant another way. I want my music to change the world. I want people to be inspired by my story, my sound. I would use the world future.

8. What is a piece of advice that you can give the younger artist coming up?

· For the younger artist, I would say come into the business two minded. Come into this business as a business man or woman and as the artist, entertainer or whatever you trying to be. Make sure you look at your contracts and receipts. Make sure your seeing everything that's going on behind the scenes. You know believe in yourself and that you can achieve what you want to achieve. But the main thing is be that business man or woman. You know, find out what's going on, and look at the contracts. If you don't know get a lawyer, figure out how your money is flowing. When the curtains close and your 15 minutes of fame is up, you have to have something to fall back on.

I was given the opportunity to have a conversation with DC Don Juan. We spoke about his music, who he would like to work with and why he decided to sign a deal with Soul World Entertainment.

For those who don't know you, whose Don Juan?

I am the most humble grinder in the world. I would describe myself as the best mother's boy in the world, the woman's man. I am Mr. Impossible because if it hasn't been done yet, I am trying to find a way to do it.

When did you know you wanted to become a rapper?

I knew I wanted to become a rapper at nine years old. My grandfather use to sing with Frankie Lyman, so music was always in my blood. I always wanted to be like my uncle, my uncle is my role model. At nine years old, my uncle use to ghost write his raps for me. I'll recite them so I can get his attention, so I can hang out with my uncle. But it wasn't until I graduated high school and moved to Denver that's when I knew I wanted this to be my life. It use to be a hobby, but when I saw what I had, I saw the gift god astound on me and I knew this is what I wanted to do.

Who are some of you musical influences?

Of course my uncle, my team, my own family team UN. Of course I will say I think Jay-Z is the best that has ever done it. But growing up I will say Ludacris, Lil' Wayne and Nelly. Those three play a major part in my music.

What is one word you would use to describe your rap style?

Undefined

Do you consider yourself a role model for the younger generation?

I consider myself a role model for everybody, women, children, men. I'm somebody that's positive that follows a dream and not afraid to be different. I keep it clean, so I think anyone will love that as a role model.

You signed a deal with Soul World Entertainment, how did that come about?

Soul World Entertainment, shout out to them. You know Que's my brother, Lil' Mo's my sister, it was only right. A lot of people didn't know my mother was my manager. I wanted to take some of the stress of her, cause she got me this far and her son is doing a lot. I can pass the torch to someone who farther knowledge on the situation. Cliff Jones has done a lot of things for Raheem (Devaughn) , he's done a lot for R-Kelly. He did a lot of things for Que, Dawn and Lil'Mo and right now he's gonna do a lot for me.

Who are some other artists that you would like to work with?

I'm dying to work with Nelly. I'm dying to work with Ludacris. You know, if I want to work with Wayne, its gonna have to be in eight months or so when he gets out. I don't want to say people in my genre. I want to get on a track with Taylor Swift. I wan want to get on with Travis from Gym Class Heroes. I want to jump out the box and do something with Will.I.AM. I want to go there with it. A lot of people, Avril Lavigne, anybody. I love those who love me, I want to work with everyone.

What is a piece of advise that you can give an up and coming rapper?

I always tell them never, ever, ever stop. Never give up, never stop. The moment you stopped could have been could have been the chance you could of gotten on. If this is something you want to do, do it until the wheels fall off. If it doesn't work at least you got you pride and you tried your best. Just like they say on a test, if you fail at least you can say you tried your best. God is gonna respect you for that.

Beside Twitter, what are the other ways the fans can keep in contact with you?

Besides Twitter, you can hit up on my MySpace and all the good stuff. My website is coming up now. I have not picked a name on it, but I have the designed mapped out already, So I don't want to give you a name for it yet. But, I want to build up the Twitter, so send them directly to my Twitter. How old are you?

I know you were raised in Jersey, What part are you from?

I was born and raised in Maplewood New Jersey, but my parents live in Hanover, New Jersey.

If you can choose one word to describe your music, what would it be?

If I could describe my music in one word it would be versatile.

Besides music, what else do you see yourself doing?

I like acting. I also like movies and theater. Besides that, I like to hang with my friends and do sports.

If you could tour with any female artist who would it be?

If I could tour with any female artist it would be Keri Hilson. In my opinion, Keri is a hot artist and songwriter. Her style is a lot like mine. I would like to tour with Beyonce.

You've worked with Dawn Richard on your new song "Already Know", what made you want to work with her?

I wanted to work with her because she has appeal about her, to go from Danity Kane to Dirty Money. When people found out I have a song with her the response has been the same "We love her." But with the appeal she has, an Asian girl can like her and a white guy can like her.

Since releasing your song "Beautiful Music", how has things changed?

(Since releasing "Beautiful Music") its funny to hear my name being pronounced so many different ways.

Who are some of the other artists that you would like to work?

I would like to work with The Dream, Johnta Austin, Byran Michael Cox. Drake and Lil' Wayne are my favorite rappers.

What advice do you have for someone who is juggling college and career?

Advice I have for someone that is juggling a college and music is that its all about making sacrifices.

What is one thing you can tell the fans?

I'm like one of the realest people you'll ever meet in your whole life. I love animals, I like babies. I'm a real spiritual person. I'm a people person, I love talking to people.

Have you been recognized in public?

Yeah I have, its the weirdest thing because I still consider myself as a regular person. But I feel honored and flattered that people love and respect my music. It feels good to have people that understand, after being misunderstood for so long.

Who are some of the other artist that you have written for?

I wrote for Christina Milian, Aretha Franklin. I've worked 36-Mafia, Tony Braxton, the list goes on. I've worked with producers like Rodney Jerkins and Danger. I've worked with just about everyone.

What's the hardest thing about being in the music industry?

I think it all depends on the person. I think the hardest thing about being in the music industry is trying to be something your not and being accepted as that. Its so cookie cutter, you have to be a size zero, you have to sing a certain way or smell a certain way, so people lose sight of who they are. They forget about the person that use to stare out the window at the birds and shit. People lose sight of who they are trying to please everyone. Just hold on to who you are because its easy to lose yourself.

What is your writing process like?

Its just like right now, like kicking it with y'all and talking. It can be us talking about everyday life. We can talk about positive things that make you happy or it can be a particular situation. If it fits me than I can rock with it.

Has it been hard adjusting to be in the spotlight?

Contrary to what people think I was an artist before. But when I got pregnant and had my son, it was easy to sit down and write for other artist. I love them both equally and I'm excited for both, how about that (Laughs)

Can you tell us something about "Last Train to Paris" that the fans don't know?

Oh my god, we have various people on the album. I think you guys know everything because we keep you guys abreast with everything. It still shocks me when i say "I'm in the studio with Puff." They like bitch stop lying. Yeah, were all real people because contrary to what people thing he's (Puff) is a really cool person.

Did you know Dawn before Dirty Money?

I did not know Dawn (Before Dirty Money) I met her before Puff asked me to be in the group. I was writing on the album and he brought Dawn into the studio and we both clicked. We're both Leos and we're not trusting from up top. But were like sisters, we fight, we even fight with Puff.

We were given the opportunity to interview the beautiful Dawn Richard of Dirty Money. As we interviewed her she let us know the status on her comic book soundtrack, where she sees herself in five years and talked about the Last Train to Paris album.

Mela: When you go home to New Orleans, what are your favorite places to visit?

I love the restaurant Mothers, its one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. So if you ever go (to New Orleans) that place has the best food. The place on the lake, its the spot everyone goes to on Sunday. We go to the lake, eat crawfish and chill (Its a must). My favorite place of all is my home church, it was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina and they rebuilt it. I always go back there because that's where I had my first communion and its where I got baptized. Its the place where I made a home for myself. So when I go (to New Orleans) I always go revisit the church, there's a place in my heart that makes me want to go back there all the time.

Mela: What's you favorite Kalenna song?

I have to say I'm not going to pick one because I don't want to do that to myself. I'm a fan of hers period. She's got plenty of songs, but I don't know if she wants her songs or business out there, but I do know that people are going to love the songs when they hear them. So I'll say I'm a fan of hers.

Mela: What is the status of the comic book soundtrack?

The reason why everyone is asking for it is because it was suppose to come out in February. The reason it was not released was not because I didn’t have it, its that I had signed a deal with EigoManga (a distribution company). I was in the works of switching over my comic book and it finally came through. I didn't want to release the soundtrack with out a comic, so I had to put the soundtrack on hold, so I can release the comic book and soundtrack together. So I'm proud to say that my new comic book is coming out in Spring 2010.

Mela: What is the biggest lesson you've learned about the music industry in the last 3 yrs?

First of all, trust god that's number 1. Second one is you can never please everyone, so learn to please yourself and God and everything will fall into place.

Mela: Is June 29, 2010 the official release date for "Last Train To Paris"?

Hell yeah, I'm gonna say hell yeah (Laughs). If not I'm going to be mad, I'm just playing. We want it (The date) to be, but there's no concrete things , but its looking like that. We are hoping it is because it would be a good summer for Dirty Money.(Since the interview the release date for "Last Train to Paris is officially June 22, 2010)

Mela: Are you going to relaunch your official site, if so is there a date the fans should expect it to be up by?

(The official site is going to be relaunched) at the end of March. Its going to be a blog site, its going to be about positivity. Its going to have a journal, authors, art, charity things you can get involved in and cultural things. You will see a glimpse of who I'am. I'll have chat weeks, where everyone can interact. This site will be more interactive.

Mela: When you write a song, do you listen to a beat first or do you write the lyrics first?

It's a vibe, there no set order for me. If I hear a record and I'm rocking with it, I can write to it. Sometime I just write and its enough, its just depends on the situation. I have a book of poetry with me and I'll have lyrics written with no beat and other times I'll just write anything down and go into the lab and when the beat comes on I just be saying
stuff.

Mela: Is it finalized that you and Kalenna are going to be on the "Shake That" remix?

Yes, we are finalized to be on "Shake That Shit" and everything that comes aboard with that. We are very proud of him and support his album. (At this point, I told her how the fans are proud of Que and she said thank you and handed the interview over to Kyle.)

Kyle: Do you have a favorite studio that you have recording in?

Rodney Jerkin's studio is my favorite.

Kyle: Is there any particular reason you like that studio?

Its not that I like it more then the others. But Rodney engineers makes us sound like butter biscuits (Laughs) . Its just the vibe and the sound in there that's hot.

Kyle: Do you and Kalenna hang out outside of the studio when its not Dirty Money related?

Hell yeah. That's my boo. where ready to take over the world (Laughs.)

Kyle: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Five years, I see myself having a couple companies I have up and running. I want to have my comic book selling out of stores and doing really well. I wanted to have broken barriers about black girls and what there stereotypes are suppose to be. I would love to be a spokesperson for African American women, who feel sometimes that were suppose to look one way. I love to show the world there's different shades of us and were all beautiful in any way we look. I would love to have some Grammy's under my belt with this album. Hopefully, I'll be on my second solo album by the end of five years and have my first one goes platinum.

How to Pick the Right Pair of High Heels?

Here are some useful tips that you can use when you are purchasing a new pair of high heels.

1. Be practical and Comfortable

Remember the thinner the heel the harder it will be to balance on.
When buying pointed toe heels, always try them on and make sure you have enough room to move your toes around.
If you are buying sling backs or lip on heels, always remember to make sure the heel does not separate to far from you foot.

2. Heel Position

When trying on a pair of heels, make sure that the heel of the show sits directly in the middle of you heel on your foot

The classic stiletto is a prime example of how the heel on a shoe should be positioned.

3. Posture

When you are wearing your heels always remember to keep a good posture. Always walk with you head up and your shoulders back.

How To Pick the Perfect Shade of Foundation?

So a friend of mine asked me for help on how to pick the right shade of foundation. As I did my research, I found some tips and I hope they help you.

Tip 1: When you are at the store, pick a few different shades of foundation that matches your skin tone.

Tip 2: Apply the product to your jaw line, instead of your waist because the jaw line will give you an more accurate look of the color.

Tip 3: After applying the product to your jaw line, stand in natural light (Sunlight) .

After following these tips, the foundation that blends into your skin and doesn't leave any lines is the foundation that is the correct shade for your skin tone. If your buying foundation from the drug store, take a few bottle from the selves and hold it up to your jaw line and see which color matches your skin tone.

When you are purchasing your foundation from a make up counter please follow the following tips :

Tip 1: When you go to the counter, its important to know you skin type (IE: Oily, Dry or Combination). This piece of information will help you pick the right foundation for your skin.

Tip 2: Go to the counter with a clean case. Eyeliner, lipstick (Or gloss) and moisturizer are fine, but don;t go to the counter with foundation already on your face.

Tip 3: After getting the product applied to your jaw line, ask for a hand mirror and stand in natural light so you can see the true color of your foundation.

I know its been a month since I updated the blog, but things have been really hectic and busy.
But I'm back in action. I'm sorry to all my readers who I have neglected these past few weeks. Please believe that your love does not go unnoticed. I love you guys.

Today as I update this blog, my mind is wandering to the people of Haiti. Its been 3 weeks since that tragic earthquake hit and many lives were taken, But as the relief team work hard to dig through the rubble, please keep them in your prayers. Please keep the people of Haiti in your prayers as they go through this tough time. If you are able too, please donate, it can be anything from money to clothes. Every little bit counts.

In closing I want to leave you with something my mother told me.

Help those who can not help themselves because you never know how life can change and you might need the help one day.

On today's model spotlight, I will be featuring Mckenya Barfield. Kenya is 20 years old and was born and raised in West Philly. Kenya has listed Tyra Banks as her favorite model and as her inspiration. Her other inspirations include her Grandmother and Dawn Richard.
Kenya's favorite designers are Heatherette, Vera Wang, Louboutin, Dior, Bebe and Versace .

Her dream is to be come a well know model, who inspires people who feel like they can't make it. She want to show them the example of working hard and making something of yourself because she was once there when she thought she wasn't going to make her. Kenya's goal after becoming a successful model is to open a foundation for people of all ages and races to provide them with food, clothing, homes and anything else they might need to live a productive life.

Music Love - Que is REMOVED from Day26

Que Mosley 1/5 of Day26 give the fans some news that we never thought we would hear.

Que was removed from the group.

Day26 was formed on August 26, 2007 on Making the Band 4.
We watched these boys struggled and develop a bond that became a brother hood.
We watched as they struggled to make an album, but in the end they release a number 1 debut.
Watched them work, fight, but still remain brothers at the end of the day.

So what happen to change it all??

Yesterday, Qwanell came on his Twitter page (Twitter.com/On2thanext1ne) and said he received a letter that said he's no longer a part of Day26.

My first reaction was that was some major BITCHASSNESS because if Que was your brother the least they could of done was give him a face to face meeting.

Then Willie Taylor took to the radio, calling Que a cancer and said Que was the reason the almost lost there deal. He also went on to say they had no way of getting in contact with Que because he changed his number, email and Twitter.

BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!! First of all calling Que the cancer of the group is uncalled for because in my personally opinion Que was one of the hardest working members of Day26. When your coming of a reality show like Day26 has, you have to reinvent your self on every album and Que was the only one that fought for a different sound on the second album. Then when Willie said he couldn't get in contact with Que is bullshit because if Que changed his number I know Willie and the other boys can get in contact with Dawn, so they can get in contact with Que. His twitter page is up there all he did was change his name. But I believe that if management or whoever can send Que a letter to his house, the other 4 should of all jumped into a car and head over to his house and had a face to fac meeting.. So that was a LAME excuse for not getting in contact with him.

A few hours later Que decided he was going to go live on U-Stream and let the fans know the truth. He let the fans know what the letter said. The letter said the other 4 members no longer desired to work with him and that Que nor his representatives should contact management. If he has any inquires let his attorney contact them.

AGAIN!!! Bullshit you do not force out one of your members out the group. You work it out and you stick this shit out. You work out your differences, even though sometimes it may be a hard thing to do. If you call someone your brother, you work out your problems as brothers before band members.

Que then goes off air and comes back and continue to explain the situation at hand. He said his drama is NOT with Day26 its with management. He said Screwface promised him a house, which he never got, which left his family homeless for a while. He said all he really wanted was a audit of the fiances, to see where money was being placed and used. Que went on and said that he still has love for Day26 and his issues are with management. He said its not Puff, its MANAGEMENT!!

In my hearts of hearts I've always felt Screwface was fucking over the group. I felt like if he can steal money from the fans then he can steal money from the group. (NO ONE THAT ORDERED OFC PACKAGES GOT THERE SHIT!!!!!) Now if that's not stealing then I don't know what stealing is. Screwface is scared that all his dirty deeds were gonna be put on blast once Que got another manager in the picture, like they say what you do in the dark will eventually come out in the light and Screwface know he was in some shit. So that's why the group decided to remove Que from the situation because he knew his cover was going to get blown.

Like I've said to many of the fans I spoke to, Day26 is not Day26 if all 5 members isn't there. There 3rd album will not do well because Que is no longer in the picture. Que brought in a lot of the fan base and now that he's gone so is the fan base. Que was the one person that brought the group together in the performances, the one that interacted with the fans more at CD signings. It broke my heart to see another one of my favorite groups part, but I know that at the end of the day God has bigger and better things for Que.

I want to personally wish Que all the best in the future. May God guide your path down the road more suited for you. Love you bro and keep your head up. Remember that the fans support you 100%

He knew that he wanted to be with her,

When she looked at him, she knew they were meant to be.
But her heart was closed to love.
She refused to open up her heart, because she was scared of what might come her way.

treat her like the Queen she is.

Even though she tried to hide her feeling, he saw right through it.

He showed her things she never seen before, done things that were never done.

Her friends told her take a chance because you never know what might come from it.

She looked at him standing there and she realize life is about taking chances.

So she opened her heart and let love come in.

Now that she's opened her heart to love, she never turned back.

When people look at them they see the love they have for each other.

We see that there love is true and one day we hope to find the love they have.

I have recently come into having a passion for make up, especially eye make up. Recently I went on a hunt for various websites that I can order make up from and in my quest, I found two.

www.cherryculture.com and www.coastalscents.com

Cherry Culture is a good site to get make up from because there prices are reasonable. They have drug store make up for half of what they sell for in the store.

Here are some of my recent purchases.

Purchased Milk and Black bean in the NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencils.
Purchased Sunshine and Black Pearl in the LA Colors Simmering Loose eye shadow.

Coastal Scents is another amazing website because they actually have items you can use to make your own custom make up. You can also purchase pre-made make up.

Here is my recent purchase.

The colors on this pallet are very bright, to maximum the the brightness of the colors I suggest
putting on concealer on your eyelid before putting on the shadow. The concealer helps the color pop and also helps it from creasing.

Inspiration - Dawn Richard

Inspiration is defined as a thing or person who inspires.

Dawn Richard is my inspiration.

There has never really been a celebrity, who has helped me change my outlook on life like Dawn Richard has. As I follow Dawn's career from Danity Kane to Dirty Money, my respect grows for her more and more.

In 2005, I watched as Dawn made the band, which we all know as Danity Kane. Among the tragedy of losing everything because of Hurricane Katrina, she held her head high and continued to move forward with the show.

In 2008, as I watched Danity Kane disband, I watched as Dawn struggled and not know where her next pay check was going to come from. But the one thing she reminded doing was working and hold her head above the water.

I never felt as close to a celebrity as I do to Dawn because Dawn makes herself accessible to the fans. She calls fans, answer there phone calls and even reply to tweets when she gets the time (Most celebs don't).

My mother,

A hard working, independent woman, who showed me that you have to work hard and make sacrifices for the ones you love.

Worked 7 days a week to provide the things her family needed, never complaining she was always there to give a helping hand.

She's a woman who loves her children and would give the world to seem them happy.

Even though she grew up poor, she is rich with love the she has for her children and her husband.

My mother has taught me that no matter what that your family will always be there, loved me even when it was hard to.

Loved me when no one else did.

She cared for me when I was sick and was there to hold me when I was crying.
